Welcome!
In February 2026 I received my PhD in Classics from Columbia University, where I wrote my dissertation on the late antique and early Christian writer Lactantius (c.250-c.325 CE). As a trained philologist, which is just a fancy way of saying that I read ancient texts in their original language, I specialize in the writings of Late Antiquity with primary research interests in understandings of the body at the intersection of medicine, philosophy, and religion.
For the past nine years I have taught Latin at all levels, ancient Greek, and Classical Mythology at both Columbia and the University of Maryland, College Park. I also have 5+ years experience tutoring students in Latin and Ancient Greek ranging in age from 12 years old to 65. I am passionate about, and committed to accessibility to education, and as a first-generation student myself, I believe that all students, regardless of socio-economic background and access to previous learning opportunities, can succeed in their chosen academic pursuits.
I have tutored students from the following schools:
-
Horace Mann School (Bronx)
-
Trinity School (Manhattan)
-
Germantown Friends School (Philadelphia)
-
St. Peters Prep (Jersey City)
-
Phillips Academy (Massachusetts)
-
Brooklyn Latin School
-
The Geneva School of Manhattan
-
Phillips Exeter Academy
